We are delighted to announce that we have launched a charity partnership with The SMA Trust (Spinal Muscular Atrophy).
Since their launch eleven years ago, The SMA Trust are the only UK based charity dedicated to funding medical research to find a cure to Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Our expertise in marketing will allow us to raise brand awareness for the charity, and also actively contribute to their vision and mission. We are honoured to be able to support such a professional and driven charity.
“We couldn’t be more delighted to welcome ActiveWin as a major corporate partner. Their support as marketing experts will enable us to raise awareness of Spinal Muscular Atrophy and of what we do. We are totally reliant on voluntary donations and we are extremely proud, that thanks to them, we now fund 70% of all charity funded research in SMA. However, we want to do so much more.” said Joanna Mitchell – SMA Chief Executive.
Spinal Muscular Atrophy is the number one genetic killer of infants and toddlers in the UK. Up to 1.5 million people are genetic carriers and 1 in every 6000 babies is born with the condition. SMA has 4 main types with varying severity. Type 1 is the most common, and unfortunately the most severe; typically diagnosis occurs within the first 6 months of a baby’s life, and they will rarely survive past their 2nd birthday. Children with a less severe form will face progressive muscle wasting and loss of mobility and motor function.
